Hammar H20R hydrostatic release unit (HRU) for liferafts — P/N HA2000H. The world's best-selling HRU, designed to automatically release a liferaft if a vessel sinks. Activated by water pressure at a depth of 1.5–4.0 metres, a sharp knife cuts the strong rope, freeing the liferaft to float to the surface and inflate. Made of corrosion-proof glass-fibre-reinforced nylon.
